Supply & Demand Chain Executive Names TradeStone Software to Its Top 100
TradeStone and Its Unified Buying Process Honored by Customers for Second Straight Year

Gloucester, Mass., July 18, 2006 — TradeStone Software, the leader in global sourcing, product life cycle and order management solutions, has been named to the fifth-annual listing of the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100. The magazine, which focused on companies that are truly innovative, features its list in the June/July 2006 issue which is now available.

TradeStone Software earned a place on the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 list by pioneering a strategic new approach to sourcing known as the Unified Buying Process, which enables companies to streamline their international and domestic supply chains into one view and business process. Organizations and central purchasing groups now source products internationally just as easily as they do domestically, while developing competitive product portfolio margin spreads with the profits that come from international sourcing.

"Today companies source from around the world, but they do so with systems and processes that are long-since outdated. It isn't that they don't want to do the job better, but processes have developed over time that were, when implemented, the best they had. The problem is that today these systems are bogged down by redundancies and roadblocks," said Sue Welch, CEO of TradeStone Software. "Buyers need real-time information from every point in their supply chain. Internal sourcing organizations that provide this directly from agents and factories gain credibility with buyers and become preferred vendors that deliver highly profitable goods on time and to specifications. The Unified Buying Process is designed to make this a reality."

Utilizing data-anywhere architecture, TradeStone Software's TradeStone Suite enables key product information to be entered once, then used by all supply chain stakeholders. Also, because the Unified Buying Process uses purchase orders as the linchpin for all production information it ensures that packing lists, commercial invoices and bills of lading are all rock solid for Customs clearance and Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) adherence.

"TradeStone Software is at the forefront providing new solutions and best practices for the supply chain, understanding trends in supply chain technology and benchmarking their own enablement initiatives with those of other enterprises across industry verticals," explained Andrew K. Reese, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive. "By linking buyers and sellers across the globe, TradeStone is not only helping companies enhance their profitability by making smarter purchasing decisions, but is also helping to positively affect the economies of emerging countries, bringing global business opportunities to their fingertips."

Supply & Demand Chain Executive editors focused on several key characteristics as distinguishing this year's Top 100 vendors, all of which are fully demonstrated by TradeStone:

  • Commitment to Customer Success – TradeStone customers can increase their product portfolio margin spreads to 65 percent - an enviable position among their peers.
  • Innovative Functionality – One of the many unique features offered to TradeStone customers is The Virtual Showroom – a secure online workspace where the central purchasing group can introduce seasonal items to local retail buyers and merchants.
  • Rapid and Repeatable ROI – The breadth of the TradeStone Suite allows users to migrate through the functionality, realizing new ROI opportunities. On average, TradeStone customers report shortening their supply chain length by one to three weeks while simultaneously increasing the number of collections and promotions.
